Hot coco and Anzac biscuits

>> Monday, April 27, 2009

Anzac Weekend is almost ending and so is the children's Easter school break... We decided, the cherubs and I, to finished our time at home together by baking Anzac biscuits with this yummy recipe from "exclusively food" along with a mug of hot chocolate. I badly needed to show the kids how to bake cookies as they have tried not so long ago on their own, ( a surprise for mummy while I was sleeping)... It was a disaster!!! They are not allowed to used the oven yet on their own, (just too little still). The so call biscuits/blob entirely made out of spelt flour, a little water, lots and lots of sugar when straight, yes, into the microwave!!!

The proud kids then brought them along to me on the breakfast tray with fresh flowers from the garden and a big tall glass of milk... I was so grateful to the cows, any cows, to provide me with such a divine lifesaver as I could wash down in massive gulp the revolting taste of the bikkies!

This is the children's second take on baking these iconic scrummy Australian biscuits...

Australian AND New Zealand biscuit. It's what the 'NZ' in 'ANZAC' stands for.

Yes it is!

ANZAC stands for: Australian and New-Zealand Army Corps...
